Late Wednesday quick update
Hi everyone
The last 2 days have been a bit up and down for Sara (and us) as we all continue to come to terms with the events of the past few weeks. Sara is still in hospital while her medication for the seizures are sorted out. She has also been experiencing some nausea and diziness as a side effect of the medication changes. Today was a better day than yesterday and we went out to the Boatshed Cafe for lunch or breakfast depending on your mood and choice. Last night both Sue and I stayed with her, tonight it is just Sue and I am on the home front.
This afternoon we moved our stuff to our new abode on the hill near Sumner (courtesy of John and Glenda) and it feels wonderful to have some space we can call "home" for a while. We have been very lucky to be able to stay with Robyn and Mac for what has been nearly 3 weeks and enjoy the peaceful surroudings and garden of their place and be with all the family. Tomorrow night Kate returns from Twizel with my sister Ruth (where it sounds like she has been having a great time) and will be here also. We are hoping that Sara will be able to come home at night in the day or so.
She has had a few visitors in the past few days but is still getting very tired. She had a wonderful 4 hour peaceful sleep this afternoon and then dinner with us and her Nana and Aunty Robyn.
We will have to continue to manage her visitors carefully so please phone Rob on 027 223 4546 before visiting. She is spending some time out of the hospital during the day but is still resting lots during these times.
Her kiwifruit haircut is growing back very quickly - she loves to show it off to her visitors and get them to touch it. Tonight there was great excitement when she had a breakthrough with a strong desire for some chocolate biscuits - she has been rejecting all sweet food for the last 2 weeks!
And yes we are getting close to completely covering the wall in Room 5 with cards, messages, posters and monopoly boards! Thanks to everyone who has sent so many wonderful presents - they always bring so much joy to Sara and are a real boost for her spirit.
love to everyone
Sara, Kate Sue and Rob

Good morning Sara, Kate, Sue and Rob.
It's 7am here and 4am there, and I hope you are all snoring! Enjoy the Redcliffs Retreat, what a wonderful gift from Glenda and John.
Sara, I loved your quote from the 23rd. I have copied it, with a picture of you eating pancakes to put near my desk at the office. We are always so busy trying to get somewhere we forget the journey! So thank you for that treasured quote.
I am hoping the meds will sort themselves out today and you can feel like eating more chocolate cookies!
Steve in Vancouver on a work trip, Matt fixing roofs in the snow and I'm in the forestry front reception today.. damn phone doesn't stop ringing!!

Sara, Sue, Rob and Kate,
Great to hear you have shifted base to such a wonderful, peaceful setting - hear that you commented that you could sit and look at the view forever. Do hope that you get to enjoy it soon!!!
It's a real bummer how the meds are making you feel so ill. Unfortunately that is all part of it and hopefully things can be stabilised soon. Really important that you get to luuuuv choccy biscuits again!
We loved catching up with you guys on Sunday - hope that you got a sleep after, and that Sue and Rob got to put their feet up too. The kids could have sat
there all aft watching the movie I think.
I thought of you when Andrew opened his exams this morn. He had good results and should feel pleased with them, but was disappointed in some that he felt he would have done better at. A good way for him to start the year though, and sure you will have some great results too.
Hope you are getting to play on the Monopoly board. Sue McNeill was telling me about how busy Alan had been buzzing around the town taking the photos. Well done Alan!
Caitlin and others will be thinking of you this weekend at the rowing, and will no doubt be feeling you right there with them as they are slogging it out.
Take care, rest up, sleep lots, enjoy the tranquility of the views, and eat whatever and whenever you like.We are always thinking of you.
Love and hugs from us all.
Cynthia, Victoria, Mike, Ben, Andrew and James.
So are you ready for more haybales then???? lol!! Will need to stock up on bulk ingredients if the choccy hunger pangs are returning... thats a great sign though.
Maybe you can have a crash course in learning to make them when we come down again.. you may well pass "Haybale Making" 101, 201 and 301 in one go!!!
lots of love and hugs The Haybalers
Hi Sara, Thinking about you heaps and a good sign re the choc biscuits! Although you won't be at the Canty's this weekend, I'll be thinking of you and sending you healing vibes from the water.

Hi Sarah
Great pics on your site and so pleased that you have such a nice place to stay when you can get out of the hospital. Great for your mum and dad too.
Monopoly board sounds cool too. Heard that Alan Grant went around just taking pics of whoever was around...my question is why Jacq de Buyzer runs around with high heels, sparkly dress and her Melbourne Cup hat on at 11 in the morning! Must be wild on Totara Drive! PS I heard she is looking for a sash saying Miss Totara Drive rather than keep on using that piece of cardboard.
Lots of pleased kids around today with NCEA results out. Taylor is gutted that he worked for 22 points more than he needed for the pass and the twenty to take through for Level Two. I too am gutted - just figured out that the SNA in the external exams results doesn't mean Standard Not Achieved but actually Standard Not Attempted. I think that boy went into the exams and sat and did nothing!!
Congrats on your results - great work.
Trust things are settling down with your medication and you get to spend some nights out of hosp soon.
Love to you all.
Connie
Dear Sara
I know I've told you this but I want all Bloggers to now how fantastic you are. Best NCEA results TAS has ever had - best i"ve ever heard of!!!!! Well done Sara. You are an inspiration to all of us.
Heaps of love
Glenda
