Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi,Oi,Oi! We're Back!!
Hi everyone
We are back from Aussie and all feeling rather tired! The day trip was turned into an overnighter which made things a bit easier. A couple of early starts including a false one this morning when one alarm clock went at 6.30am NZ time and it wasn't mine! The day yesterday went well and started with our great friend Pip Aitken meeting us at the airport and spending the whole day with us.
We went home to Pip's where Sara had a sleep for a couple of hours before we headed to the hospital for the 1.00pm appointment. The hospital scan went smoothly and Sara was finished by 3.30pm and then devoured her first food since 8.00am - a long time for Sara to be without food! We will hear about the results of the scan in the next couple of days.
Then we went off to the Supre factory shop for a bit of retail therapy where Sara had a great time choosing some tops for her and Kate and a bright pink bag for Sara.
We had a fine meal and lots of fun at home with Pip, John, Petra and Nicole and then headed to our hotel for the night about 9.00ish. After a delicious breakfast this morning we headed to the airport, got some duty free and touched down in Chch at 3.00pm. Thank you Pip and John for making the visit so easy.
And now its Sara here......
Granty, take note your challenge regarding the wacky hat was more than fullfilled and we have lots of photographic evidence to prove it! We will have to load some photos in the next day or two!
And also .....by the way Cheese on the way home we went past Kerrs Reach and spotted a Villa crew out training hard..........did not spot that cheesy grin, I hope your not slacking off! I am sure your are not though. Hehehe hehehe!!!
The plan has changed a little since the last posting. Tomorrow Sara has her op for the ovarian harvest, first thing in the morning, so it time to head off to bed. Then there will be another op on Tuesday for the lumbar puncture, portacath and the bone marrow harvest which has been approved - so there are more busy days ahead.
We are living by this saying at the moment "The plan is that the plan will change!"
Love from Sara, Kate, Sue and Rob.

so your back that is good as having Kate wandering around the nieghbourhood in her pjs was a major concern. Good night Flight Captain
Pleased you're home safely Sara and family. What a full on itinerary. So good to get your updates. Thinking about you loads Sara, you brave little pixie. Oh, saw Claud in the weekend....I think she has grown! She wanted to row at school but for some reason it was a no go. Rest up.
Load of love

Hi Sara and trans Tasman trotting Olds (and K8 2!)
Great to know you're back safely and that it all went well including the retail therapy. Hope the op goes well in the morning. It will put three+ hours of interminable teacher only day staff meetings (oops sorry Bill and Glenda) into some sort of perspective!
I wait with interest to see the hat photos, but I don't doubt that you took them! Also had an email from Moira Spicer (HOD English) at Catlins tonight. She too wishes you well and is praying for you, and also wants to borrow a DVD copy of 'Wonder in Aliceland' which they're hoping to put on this year. Your fame reaches far and wide! We may have to clone you and Sam off and raise some funds for the next show!
If in doubt eat more chocolate, and I DO like the new plan to change the plans: my English courses have operated on this philosophy for years!
Did you see any adlestrops or glentaggarts on your travels?
Love
Granty
PS Is Cheese this garrulous in person or more so?
Hi to the Young family,
So pleased to read your blog tonight and hear the latest! Sounds like a really exciting trip over the water - and many would have been envious of shopping at the Supre shop.
Your friend Cheese is such a hard thing, was having a chuckle as I read of her latest escapades. Could just imagine it all as she told about the seminar!
We are off to get school books tomorrow as we start to think about school again. Think I am ready now for them all to go back to school!
Spoke to Felicity tonight and she said she had emailed you with best wishes. There are so many people who are thinking of you.Don't know if you have ever met Felicity?
Must go to bed. Hope you are taking every oppertunity to eat chocolate and anything else you fancy.
Good luck for your op tomorrow . Sounds as though you have a full calendar for the next week.
We all await some new photos.
Love to you all.
Cynthia, Victoria, Mike, Ben, Andrew and James.

Have been keeping up with the info on the website and regular chats from mum, but it isn't the same as being there and in the thick of things! Wish I could be there to give you all lots of hugs and to make you laugh (that lazyboy had it in for me - I am not that un-co usually....honest...) :o)
Sounds like things went well in oz - good stuff getting in some time for retail therapy! now that is what I call prioritising!
Things have been quite busy since I got back to London - work especially. People here have been asking after you sara (look at that - your fame has travelled to the other side of the world!) and some of my friends are even keeping an eye on the website. Still, it feels a long way away from you all!

I have to ask that at sometime we have a picture of Cheese as from thousands of miles away I have imagine some amazing characterizations! I mean "Cheese".. goodness could this person audition for Mainland Cheese Adverts or some Colgate toothpaste advert!
And the laugh for today is on me ..Just as Steve arrived home from work I was just squeezing the pasta sauce out over the cooked pasta and splat the sauce went everywhere .. I mean up the kitchen walls, over the floor, over the oven and benches and all over me. Steve couldn't stop laughing as I am standing there looking bewildered dripping in chunky tomato and cheese! Life has never a dull moment!
Hey Sezza Girly betcha still swirly from that op. Its your top dog da Principal, dats with a capital P as in Prince, here trying desparately hard to be hip by da time all the bros roll back to 'cough'skool.
Thought I would just warn ya people been dissin my attemps @ waterskiing on dis site. its not like I rate waterskiing as a sport dis was my 3rd go in 15 years. My leg is fine when straight and ok when bent but going from 1 to da other is hell like a corkie in the back of the leg each time. so I feel your pain sista.. 'yeah what-ever' I can hear u say. My so called mates don't have much sympathy either.
BUT in sympathy wid all da pain dey is puttin on yer the big G and i put da staff thru 3 hours of pain this morning at staff meetings. (It wudafbeen 15 mins but Granty asked lottsa questions. so he has no rite to be dissing our meetings). Den my phone goes off wid a msg from your mum in the middle of a sesh on unit plans sayin you'd be out at 10. (Mental note to students AND Staff phones off in class.) 10 O'CLOCK IS THAT ALL DEY GOT..Ask for your money back. (Hmmm better check what time day started a). Den Granty served up some sushimi for lunch and Frosty cut his finger on da knife AND burnt his mouth on wasabi (for a physedder dat guy is such a wuss).
We had a sesh on leadership, man there is a hole 10 feet wide in the senior school. Some people are going to have to step up to the plate and swing or u had better get ready to come on down and kick some buttocks.
Anyways I hope the op was eggscellent and although u'll feel like yur been run over by a truck good luck.
You did say they can't take away your sense of humour. Nor can they take away your courage gurl. Thinking of you heaps and hoping.
Luurve
Bill Sue Caitlin and Willis (although they might want to disown dis.)
Hey Girlfren. Thort I wud giv u a 'Bob da Bilda' vershun of our staff meetin. We teknikal types hav a shawt attenshun span (about da time it taiks 2 reed instrukshuns on a pakit of viagra) so wen da prinsipul an da big 'G' lay on da 3 our tork an lotsa handowts wif werds of mor dan 2 sillyballs is it enee wunda we bottum feedurs reech 4 crosswurds an uther distrakshuns. I jus sit an dreem of a cold glass of ouiskian zoda in frunt of da tellee. Seriously tho we havnt been in touch wile you had your travels but now you r back with us watch this space an lookout 4 da mailman. Thinking of u as always.
Sara,
Your website is making entertaining reading tonight. I have spent the last few minutes laughing. Dean says old blokes like him and Bill should give away sports like waterskiing. I say they should think about giving away trying to be hip when writing too, it is hard to read eh? I also laughed at Trish's story with the pasta sauce. Just me and Ryan and Kyle here tonight as Dean is in CHCH for a meeting and Josh at Rolleston with a friend. I took the boys out for tea - milkshake from Lou's Place, and plain boring rice from the Asian takeaway. A cheap tea and they absolutely loved it, including the novelty of having tea in the Market Place and watching out for buses and cars and trucks and all those things that 2 year old boys love (I'm afraid despite having three boys I still don't see the attraction). Sue I have been doing lots of planning work with Taco, we have been talking about how strange it will be at school without you next week and how much we will miss you.
Thinking of you all heaps. Good to have you back in NZ. Sandy.
And sometimes we wonder why our students have so many problems with English. It's so hard endeavouring to soar with the eagles when the turkeys are trying to be hip. And classes haven't even started yet! What will it be like when they do?? Get well soon Sara before the staff become totally unglued!
The increasingly despairing HOD English
Frost points out that due to the length of the b----y meetings this morning, he and I are still at school feverishly working on our plans (we've taken just a brief respite to check for a blog update, but it's back to it now.) Frosty says 'My plans are Alaska! And that should satisfy ERO.' My plans are to be home soon. Guess that sounds familiar.
Cheerio for tonight, think of us tomorrow as the meeting wagon is rolled out for another day!
Hi Sara and family,
We've been away and I haven't been up with the progress for a week and well what a week it's been for you.I'm sure there aren't too many people who have had as many ups and downs as you all in the past week or so. Firstly a BIG "CONGRATULATIONS" on your NCEA results. That is an outstanding result, you and your folks will be proud and so you should!!! Obviously on the health issue, things haven't been what I expected or hoped to read. Clearly your road to getting better is going to be a long and hard one, but it's one that I know you will make-successfully-with your strength, positive nature and love and support from all your family and "fan club".
Thank you for sharing your experience with us all. I admire you.
Keep smiling sunshine.
Love Skinner family
Hey Cheese
Thanks for making a sad old English teacher very happy. A student looked up a word and extended her vocabulary! I am ecstatic! Sara you pick your friends well!

Ok I've got some importatnt questions that need answering, Why is Cheese called Cheese? Why is Bill trying to be hip? Is apauling really spelt like that? Why are Twizel people so cool? Hopefully the answers too that and many more questions will be answered on this blog spot soon. Weather update cloudy, warm looks like rain later in the day but you never know cod turm out allright.
