Brief update at midnite
Hi everyone
Just a quick one for those wanting the latest.
Sara is in the CHOC ward tonight with Sue staying over. She is getting back to the old smiling Sara but had a bit of a rough time post op with the anaesthetic reaction. Just left her consuming a lemonade iceblock and thinking about a few more during the night. The op did not start until midday (later than originally planned) and her radiotherapy start has been delayed until tomorrow provided she is all OK. She will come home tommorrow everything going to plan
Kate left for LAX tonite at 10.00 so she is winging her way back to Angel Fire for the next 8 weeks. She was a little nervous about the prospect of travel by herself and getting around LA airport. But she will do just fine.....as she always does!
Time to stack some zzzzzzzzsssssssssss..........

Hi guys,
Glad to hear you're recovering after the most recent op Sara, despite the rocky start - the aneasthetic always knocks me for six too so know how you must be feeling right now! You've given me a craving for a lemonade popsicle though - something I doubt I can get here in London! Will have to go for a wander at lunchtime to find the next best thing - it's a balmy 8 degrees here today after all!Hmm.... Maybe not. :-)
Yep, not so warm here in London as it was in Chch. Even snowed a little a couple of times since I've been back, though it didn't settle. The tan I managed to get while sun-worshipping in the backyard of Matai St with Kate and Lisa went unnoticed under all the layers and has already started to disappear...
Took off to Dublin the weekend before last - great fun and surprisingly a degree or two warmer than London! Spent about 3 hours touring around the Guinness Factory (that place is amazing!) and was astonished to discover I quite like Guinness! Well, the Ireland-brewed stuff. Haven't plucked up the courage to try the Guinness here in London yet....
As for you Miss Kate, I'm sure you'll be surprised with how easy the travelling by yourself is. You'll be considering yourself a expert travellor before you know it!! All else fails - ask the cute guy in the uniform where you're supposed to go... :-)
Anyway Sara, best of luck for the Radio etc tomorrow - I'll be thinking of you.
Lots of love,
Tracey
PS. Did you get the cute anaethetist again??????

I am amazed Rob at how late you can stay up and still wake up the next day smiling and as for your plucky daughter she is certianly someone to be very proud of. You have an large group of very supportive friends and it is inspiring to read all the accounts of people's (in particular Cheese)life I feel priviledged to be able a sneak into all your lives.

Hey Sara hope everything is going well today with the radiotheraphy.Did u know that I am going to Hong Kong in 7 days time.Rained all night and is cold and damp today. Everyone back at school and lots of good thoughts comming your way
At morning tea time Granty was sitting under the phone in the staff room and Maria dropped it on his head. It was very funny and I laughed ALOT. Unfortunatley I think I was the only one -laughing that is. Any way it is all go here thinking of you and sending love Jacq & Jake
Hi U4,
Sandy here again. Yesterday was always going to be a tough day, I'm glad that one is over. I hope Kate lets you know soon that she has safely made it through the adventures and trials of travel. The other laugh in the staffroom this morning was when Taco complained of feeling tired and Alan and I almost laughed him out of the room, we gave him lots of "Just you wait ..." comments and Alan described the bags Taco will have under his eyes soon. Their bub is due the first week in March. Bob then put his spoke in and said that it is the woman's job to do all the parenting anyway, or words to that effect. He of course got loudly booed by some members of staff and cheered by others. The staff at creche keep telling me how impressive Ryan and Kyle's talking is now, they really are incredible, but then I am their mother so I can say that. Kyle's latest is to keep coming up and asking for "a kiss" - completly delicious! They got an invite in the mail today to Tom's 3rd birthday party, apparently Alan and Adrienne are going to be making endless pancakes on the morning of Saturday the 18th. They have the same idea as us of having a morning party and putting an end time on it too (9.30 to 11.30 and not a minute longer!). And also our idea of telling all little noisy energetic children to bring their own ride-on. Dean says we should have patented our invitation!
Cloudy and coolish in Twizel today, rain earlier.
Hey guys - its ok to have bad days and to be more than a little cross with what life has thrown at you in the last month. I hope it helps just a little to know that there are many many people who care. luv from Sandy and Dean (and Josh, Kyle and Ryan). I'm sure Kyle would love to give you "a kiss" Sara.
Oh yeah, it's not long until a certain neighbour of ours called Jacqui gets in a plane and flies somewhere - any ideas where anybody?
Hi Sara, Sue, Rob and Kate(even though she is not with you),
It seems ages since I said hi. It most prob is!
Sorry to hear that you have not been well since the anaesthetic. Any excuse for iceblocks hey?
Well typical now that the kids are back at school, the weather has packed up. It poured here in Geraldine this afternoon. But I was pleased to see the kids off to school - felt it was time - but then it is money, money, money as they all come home with notes of what they need on top of all the stationery we have already bought!
We had a great weekend camping down at Benmore last weekend even though the weather was not great. Went with Sam and Jane (from the army camp), and some others. Fishing, biscuiting, kayaking and sitting around. On the way home we dropped into Twizel and had delicious pizza and mochas at the famous Shawtys - very nice I must say. Troy was rushed off his feet as the air was cold and everyone wanted to be inside, and he was trying to cram in more tables. We didnt pop in to see anyone as it was getting late and we had lots to unpack. Saw quite a few as we sat eating our pizza anyway.
Well Sara you will be getting stronger all the time I am sure,as you have such a strong spirit to carry you through all this - along with the love and support of your family and friends. We are thinking of you as you embark on the next part of your journey.
Love to all your family, and thinking of Kate way across the seas too.
We are lucky to be able to share your highs and lows as you go through this - lets just hope there are more highs than lows!
Love from us all
Cynthia, Victoria, Mike, Ben, Andrew and James
