Bath time
Sara is just off to her bath and complaining about how hard it is. Why do they make baths so hard? They should be like a big squishy pillow she reckons "I ALWAYS thought that". I have been instucted to measure the bath so she can go to Para Rubber tomorrow to get something big and soft to put in the bottom of the bath to lie on! Sara is thinking of a thick bit of sponge.
Does anyone out there have any good ideas for making baths soft! "This is a serious matter" she says "I have this problem EVERY night!"

Hi Young Family
Sara maybe a yoga mat might work for the bottom of the bath (softer foam), it might be easier to dry out than a sponge. YOu certainly need something more comfortable for your back. Maybe the hospital services have something they use for putting in the bath so people don't slip. It would be nice to have some sort of blowup lounger or chair that you could put in there. (bubble wrap would make too many POPS!)YOu need something that will hang over the side and not slip for you. I will put my think hat on today and ask around the office for Canadian ideas!
I loved the car photo, can't wait until you give me a spin in it when I come home!!!! No Thelma and Louise okay!!! I will have to look for a couple of long scarves!
hugs Trish
Hey dude! Maybe those elderly person seats that lower you in is an idea???
Loving the pictures sez, you are super and you are inspiring with all your enthusiastic posts - hang in there, I have had a really hard week too,(it's been offal!) things have got to get easier, right?? Hope you have been having the nice warm weather (and fantastic views too I bet) up there.
Always sending you my daily thoughts as I log on when I get into school or when I think of some random Twizel/Netball thing. Have a smile for me - will be sending one back - hey - new idea on the bath front - what about one of those massive Sumo foam suits????
Love loads, smiles and hugs

Hi Sara and family
You can get these little blow up pillow things from Aquasistions (sp) that would be really nice for your head, it is like a pillow and suctions on to the bath and gives support for your head ( of course), and maybe the yoga mat idea would work. Hope you find a solution to your problem, wet here today. take care love Jacq
Can't offer too many suggestions Sara, but I do agree - particluarly that most baths are not equipped with a head pillow: how are you supposed to lie back and read in the bath without a pillow? If you do end up re-plumbing the Galambos salle de bains, why not put in a stereo system as well and perhaps a cocktail bar beside the new improved soft bath?
Just a thought - I knew a guy once who turned the water in his friend's swimming pool to jelly with plenty of jelly crystal packets, hot water and a kayak paddle...I'm not sure doing this would make the bath any softer but it would be another great story to add to your collection.
Two more periods to go. What a week. Roll on the weekend!
LOL Granty
Hi Sara
Well I asked the Super Tank Team at the Canuk office and the girls thought the foam toys they use in the commercial swimming pools might be the way too go. Don't you like how they think big.. now all you have too do is find a big swimming pool!! (grin) hugs Trish
Hey hey guess what its me again!
Just taking a wee break (or brake if you will) from writing a "Full Engineering Report" and decided to check the good ol' blog. Now if feel that the natural (literally and figuratively, as Granty would say) solution to the bath problem is.... COVER IT IN MOSS!!! Not only is it soft and squishy (who doesnt love soft and squishy after all??), but also good for the environment, made from a non exhaustable energy source (the sun if you want to get all technical and stuff), it's also biodegradable! Unfortunatily I am not sure on the current costs for 10Kg of moss (although according to http://www.triffidpark.com.au/htm_pages/sundries.htm it is about $22 per 6kg bag of Tasmanian Moss...hmmmm).
Hows that for genius (nearly spelled it as genuios first time round :P)!
But seriously I'd say just go to that rubber place and have a look around, no telling what you might find!
Right we'll I might go patient my moss idea and get back to the lab report in the mean time,
So keep it real!
Smellin!
Hey I hear you can get mats that are like air bubble cushions or something sort of turn your bath into a lovely buble bath.
Maybe its only in my physio imagination. Hey Sara I would love soft bath sometimes when tired too. Hmm have to work on that.
Lothar says Jello???? for the bath.
LOL!!!!!
love and soft squishy hugs to you all. from Auntie Ruth the big softie too.
and the rest of us in Kitimat.

add HEAPS and HEAPS of salt to the water (aid flotation) and get Rob and any other visitors to blow through lots of long hoses to create many soft pillowy billowy bubbles......!!!!!!
I really loved and laughed lots at the last AHB sugestion. Let us know if you get some volunteers, just need lots of hot air, or wind bags? Which ever.
More hugs and love from us in Kitimat. (Where theres, not enough hot air 2 day.)
Dear Sue, Rob, Sara and Kate soon
Saturday night in Sunny Nelson and it's raining - as they say in Nelson it's Christchurch weather!
I've been doing what Granty says about ERO visits - crossing t's and dotting i's for our ERO visit next week. Just have to tidy my desk tomorrow so I can see it or so they can see it.
Mart has been at the Nelson College 150 Jubilee and is at the dinner tonight. He's met up with a few people and enjoying himself.
Zoe had her friend Eliana here last night and they watched two dvds. Zoe has a big Classics assignment due in on Tuesday but RIGHT NOW is watching anything going on TV like the OC.
Talked with Toby last night - briefly - he has two field trips this weekend. Heard on the radio this morning it was going to be 19 in Dunedin - not bad. When Mart spoke to him he could hear a female voice in the Background! A mystery!
Tonight when the long lost mother reappeared from her place of work, her daughter asked if she had the right house. I think there might be a message in there somewhere.
At any rate to make up for my prolonged absence today, I ordered a delicious Lambretta's pizza which we have just consumed. Very yummy. As you can see life in Nelson is not exactly riveting right now unless you count ERO visits and assignments.
Night, night dear Youngs - you have been in our thoughts all day
Much love
Jane, Mart and Zoe
PS - Sara, I have a different problem in the bath - I'm too short to reach the end so to stop myself slipping under the water, I have to wedge my knees against the side. I've often thought of putting a block of wood at the end for my feet. Now, that's one problem you don't have!
Maybe all those clever bloggers might have suggestions for short people.
PPS - Slipping under water is not a good idea. Once when Toby was young (no not Young), just a baby, he fell asleep in the bath. He was just sitting there and he put his head against the side and fell asleep. Of course we were there to catch him but what terribly hopeless parents who couldn't get him to bed before he fell asleep.

Hi Sara, Sue Rob and Kate (Welcome back)
I wrote a very full design brief for the new improved bath last Friday but I seem to have not sent it properly as it has not been blogged.
I'll try to remember by I was on fire then and are a bit droopy now (it is Monday after all!)
A new product that is sure to be a hit and could be a claim to fame! A rubber bath! It could have Stipples in the bottom - cushiony ones for the tender rumps, prickly ones who want to exfoliate and mechanically enhanced ones for those who wan a massage! Moulded cup or glass holders, possie to kep snacks dry. The possibilities abound!
My thoights are with you all this week. Wish there was someway to help. Ring if you want to talk.
All my love
Glenda

Hey sara more bath time tips maggie from the bank reckons you should get a big spa towell fold it in half length wise and place in the bath that should help all your boney bits. Please keep us all updated on the results of your search for the most comfortable bath. love to all, hows it being back in NZ Kate? Jacq
Hi All,
Just hauled myself out of bed after two days down and out with a nasty flu-bug. Wayne is quite smug, as he reckons it settles our ongoing argument about flu injections (I reckon they're something only old people need), but he has them and I don't, and it seems it's only me who gets the flu....then again, he is quite old.......
Hopefully you all manage to stay clear of all these change-of-season nasties that strike about now, they'll be the last thing you need.
Term One is winding down to an end now, after the ERO-inspired flurry of activity. (You should see Room 6! You wouldn't recognise it! NOT that i'm saying it's usually messy Anne, just really really BUSY!)
We'll be in Christchurch over the holiday break, I'll phone and see if we can catc
hi there from a wet but warm tauranga
may be you could try a lilo it would be a bit like a air bed wouldnt hold heaps of water and in a deep bath it could be rather soothing sort of "floaty" they dont cost must if you can get them form a plastic place or maybe the ware house you may need to put some of that non stick on the bottom of the bath and stick some to the bottom of the lilo too . just a thought
get dad to try it first !!!!!
lots of smiles and love carol and co
Me again- don't know what happened to the end of my last blog, but it was supposed to say - hopefully we can catch up for a coffee or even a wine, depending on how virus-free Wayne can remain, courtesy of his magic flu injection!
And it also said - please know that we are thinking of you each and every day....
Much love,
The Macs
Why is it that teachers save all the homework to the end of the term? And what is a zietgeber? I don't know. I Haven't had a bath in ages but I actully use my hair as a pillow. Of course this doesn't make the whole bath softer and only works if you have long hair. You could use all your wigs to line the bath and wash them at the same time. ( Do wigs need washing?). Well i must continue on my search for what excatly a zietgeber is. lots of loves and hugs
Zoe
When you do find out what a zietgeber is Zoe, do let the rest of us know! Not much else at this end now ERO has Exited Right Out. One bright spot today was Tay-lo managing to - somehow - tie a rugby ball to a rope, twirl this around his head, then his body and then neatly into his crotch. Much mirth for everyone else as he collapsed in a frothing heap before staggering to the window and being violently sick. Yes it's never a dull moment in Twizel PE... Another bright point was an un-named student doing his speech for AS1.7 who managed to have everything go wrong in his demonstration of how to change a punctured inner tube: couldn't get the tyre off (needed assistance) couldn't find the puncture (coz there wasn't one) couldn't dry the tube out after immersing it in the hope of finding the hole (forgot towel) couldn't get the air out of the tube (no puncture hole and stuck valve)and then dropped buffing tool down a crack in the steps he was leaning against, so was unable to prepare the tube for the patch. He gave it away at this point and will try again tomorrow. Can't wait as the comedy of errors today was just priceless.
Off to Taupo YIPPEE for family reunion tomorrow, so no school for me on Thursday. Celebrated by having a meal at Shawty's with Kelly and Frosts. Tom and Mac both on form winding each other up. Tom kept disappearing under the table and kicking Clare's legs, while Mac sucked sour cream up through her straw... We all agreed to do it again in about eight or ten years time.
Thinking of you all in Christchurch heaps this week. We'd come and visit on the way through but Frost gave me a virus so I'm still spluttering everywhere. Hi to the returned Kate. Jake McD was waxing his snowboard today for his AS1.7 speech, and all the ski / boarding bunnies were drinking in the smell of hot wax and moaning that there's still three more months to the snow...
Love to all Youngs and not so Youngs
Granty
Hey hey hows it??
Thought I'd do *just one last post* before I head home for the easter break, cant wait!
You know now that you have all these ideas for the bath, you have to choose one right? Think of it as Suvivor Bath Idea, and the first Immunity Scrub Brush goes to the most original idea (we'll let you be the judge on that one...)
And as for Zoe of Nelson... a zeitgeber is "An environmental time cue that entrain biological rhythms to a specific periodicity". Brings back the memories of 7th form Bio.... so there ya go hope that helps (just google it lol).
Managed to finish my 20 something page lab report in record time... only to be told it doesnt have to be FOR ANOTHER 3 WEEKS!!! Glad it's done though. You can point and laugh now.
Right assessment time yet again (CAD -Computer Aided Design this time).
Hope you all have a good easter
;)
Adios!
