Friday night - a few photos from the last few days!
Hi everyone
Just posted a few photos from the last few days. Enjoy.
Sara has had a good week, all straight forward and routine with a blood transfusion yesterday. We are ready for another weekend and some R&R. Only 2 radios and 2 chemos to go and this 6 week treatment period is finito! The next stage is still to be worked out but we should know more about it next week!
Off for another wine!
Catch you later

Fab pikkies sara, you almost make it look like your having fun(we all know that it's not)but again that wonderful big bright smile is there!!! Watched the crusaders play last night and thought of you-wondered if you made it to the game or stayed at home where it's warm and comfy- damn good game though eh! "GO CRUSADERS"
I was in Christchurch last weekend competing in the womens special k duathlon, it was cold, wet and windy early on Sunday morning when we did it, as you will know, today heading to Queenstown to do another-I'm not too sure if I'm doing a good thing or not!!! But it's fun and an amazing achievement for many(me included).
I can't believe that Kate will be home soon, time seems to have flown by so fast, I'm sure you all can't wait to be reunited again.
Well better go, gotta pack, take great care of yourself and a big hello to your whanau, Keep smiling sunshine......
hey sara your lookin so good! love the latest wig u suit it :) happy to hear things are going well i love looking at the photos and seeing your huge grin- makes me smile haha. stay strong girly love tesh x0x
Hi Sara,
Great photos - looking good and lots of fun with all the different wigs!
Amazing to see about your healing sessions - it has to be the same Debbie Carter that we are friends with in Chch. When we lived up there, she and her kids, me and the kids and many others used to meet weekly for music sessions and great catchup times - as you do when your kids are little. Say hi to Debbie from me. We recently had a reunion with everyone and it was incredible to see all these young people all grown up after sooooo many years, some of them we havent seen for a long time.
So good to hear your treatment is just about finished - one part of the journey down - how many to go? Great to hear life has not been quite so hectic for you too. Have to have the all important retail therapy, and enjoying eating too I hope!
Saw the Twizel kids at Aorakis in Timaru. The weather was foul, certainly didnt have to worry about sunburn. Went back to Timaru again the next day with James class to the Rocky Shore and the weather was awful again. I had my gumboots, brolly and warm clothes and I was mocked for all my gear until we got there and everyone wanted some shelter under my brolly, and decided I was wise after all!
We had our first day of sun yesterday and it got really hot. Andrews team had their first preseason game of rugby in Ashburton and as he went over for a try he sprained his wrist - really clever.
James and Tory have been doing the 40 hour famine. James about to finish this morn. He raised an amazing $125. Really got into it!
Ben is coming out today to practice things at the new Wheels Park as it has finally been finished and there is an opening next weekend and he has been asked to do a demo. He is enjoying his job at the Cyclery but is going back to Camp America again this year.
James was reading this and said have you told her about the pet possum? We were coming back from athletics Wed night and he found a baby possum in a hedge. Its mother had been run over. So now we are feeding Titch mashed banana and milk and she? seems to be thriving. A hard case and definitely thinks James is her mother - fine by me!
Andrew and Mike had a great trip down to Dunedin this week for a biology trip - Mike drove the bus. They stayed on Quarantine Island and it sounds like it was a good trip - a few funny stories have come home about someone stuck in a toilet, major psychos at night....etc as all good school trips are like.
Havent been to Chch for ages. Would love to come and see you guys sometime and have a catchup.
Kates time just about up and then she will be back to our winter!
Hi to Sue and Rob - hope you are not missing Twizel too much.Sounds like the support up there is so awesome though.
Hope you get to do some art - would be great to do things like that when you are up to it. I'm sure spending time with Mackenzie would be therapy too as all little kids take you out of yourself.
Rest up and take care.
Cynthia and the Geraldine Stephens
great to see the new pictures, sure love the lovely ones of you and the orchids.
We are having the time of our lives sun and snow and skiiing that is to die for. Spent last night at the moose cabin will send you some pictures with our next letter.
thinking of you lots, love and hugs and smiles Ruth and the Kitimat Krew.
Might try to phone on Monday night.
Hi guys, Love the photos, a beautiful orchid and a beautiful daughter, I'm with you Rob. Hey, and Rob, I'm still looking out for a photo of you with the surf-board, time out is soooo important so I hope you are finding/making the time the try to ride the waves (is that how surfers talk?). I loved reading of your friend's sons staying on Quarantine Island, a very special island just out from Portobello. I used to take many school camps / trips over there and we had Josh's 5th birthday party there. Plus Dean was involved in conservation work on the island. Scully and Clifton are finishing off our deck today so it is very noisy. Josh is at the pool with Marine and her kids, its the last chance with the pool closing today. I have been thinking of Mark and Clare, their big race is this weekend. Hope this week goes well. Take care, Sandy.

Hi Sara, Rob and Sue,

Today the adventure was my little neices having a husky dog pull them on skis. It was sooo cool, Jessica says I neeed a picture for school my friend will never believe me when I go home. It was another day out of the box.
Here's to you the real groovy peace girl and a break in your treatment. Glad to hear you are able to take in some fun, and movies, plus a little fun food.

Hey Girl, Just figured that since these transfusions make you feel soooo good it has to be Otaago blood theys givin you. Sue, Rob and Kate could use some.
Cheers
Your misguided rugby supporter.
Hey all
Good to see Bob at last signing himself as 'misguided rugby supporter'. You know what they say: admitting the problem is the first step towards healing Bob. Get yourself a proper team to support! (Val and many others of us can point you towards a good one...)
It seems that Cheese likes the pigtail wig Sara, so obviously I am just too uncool because I prefer the other one. Never mind.
Good to read that the 'Sarah of the h' is into a hall at last. Great stuff and well done Ms Prattles! Glad it's all going so swimmingly for you (do get round to doing some work occasionally won't ya!)
Anyway, still at school and still procrastinating, so must stop. Hope all is cool and froody in Glenstrae Towers. (Our place started getting its roof on today. Much excitement!)
Have a good one and Lol
Granty
This is probably as good a time as any to say (and I suspect that is not grammatically correct, Alan, but heigh ho!,) I can now do a smiley face and here it is - :)
And to all those other 'misguided' Otago fans out there, here is one for you :(
- And Sara! A wee pressie coming your way in the next few days from the rowing girls - they may not have you with them in person for Maadi, but they know you are right there in the boat with them - YELLING, "GOOOOOOOOOO TWIZEL!! " and, "NO PIES YET, ZOE!!"
(Who IS that very loud Twizel supporter who could drown out a rock band???)
Anyway, that's what will help them get through - it's a team effort, and you are part of the team......
See you apres Maadi!
Wayne & Val

Hi Sara and Youngs and everyone!
Wow Sara, you're looking so happy and well - Bob must be right about the otago blood hehehe.
Dunedin is lovely and sunny at the moment yet alas I'm stuck inside trying to start an essay, stink buzz! Twizel teachers, did any of you ever have to write a stupid essay about stupid neoliberalism?
Granty - uni students don't do work, we drink and eat pies and watch endless hours of commonwealth games until there is an essential assignment due. Just thought I'd clear that up.
Anywho, just thought I'd say g'day and check in to see how you're all going. Keep up the good work and awesome grins Sara!
Hugs,
Amy
sup sezzle? im babysitting tonight (sigh!) and i have to have the girls in bed and stuff by 7.30 because the O.C's on! yep! i remember you used to think i was so weird coz i watched it every friday night and then who decided to borrow the whole season on dvd?... not you? HA! yeah right. your such a crack up. the rowers are here... well some of them anyways! they're sooooo annoyin! i don't see why they insist on driving to the lake, and then back. drive to the lake, and then back. drive to the lake, and then back. honestly it's like a damn motorway or something past my place and they aren't even all here yet! what is up with that? (at least i can make up an excuse for being late on tuesday... sorry miss, i couldn't get out of my driveway) lol. don't worry though... i'll be on time! (i knew the teachers would probably read this)... it sucks! you need to set up a blog for like "NON-TEACHERY PEOPLES ONLY". you know, people like.... me! hehehe. good to see your still smiling though gurl. we miss seeing ya around! OMG guess what! (this is the bit where you say what shannon? lol) im learning to cook! cool aye. im developing my noodle and spagetti cooking skills to a further level! does that sound like really brainy or what? and so far i've cooked MOO-SUCK-A (sorry bub i don't know how to spell it but i walked round like the whole day saying it so i know how to say it lol), and lasange and choclate brownie (which is really good raw as me and cody discovered...) and muffins and yeah! it rocks aye! i can finally say that i can cook at the same level as an 11 year old! lol just joking! i'm not too great when marcus (he's my cooking buddy thing) is away for the day and i have to cook on my own. the 1st time i over boiled my jam and mrs gun had to scrub under the elements coz it turned into this like really crusty stuff - kinda like what you would get from the moon but black - and the other time i was stirring away, cooking my mince... as ya do... except it wasn't even turned on! SHAME! I mean come on! how many people cook mince when their elements turned off? obviously only me aye? there's been another time when me and marcus had done all our cooking and stuff, we just had to stick it in the oven... and OOPSIE!! shannon forgot to turn the oven on!! haha! luckily there's more than one oven though aye? or else we would've ended up eating raw food! MMMMM YUM!
... oh god. i just realised that i've spilt out my confessions about my shocking cooking and nearly the whole world is going to be reading this! the pain...
Anyways... moving right along. not alot much else has been happening here really. well not for me anyway. i'm just keeping to myself (and my shameful cooking lol). kaysh and dj and shannon are here! saw them all yesterday (which was friday). i'm not sure how long shannon's here for but kaysha and dj are here for the week they're working here over maadi so that's pretty kewl... i'm still working at country style. yep... good old country styles! still get a bit of cheek from "SOME" people in paticular... like "country styles! how do ya do that aye? i've never tried that one before!" and yeah... i'm sure you can figure out what they mean and if you can't... then don't worry your not missing out on much! as you can see sez... i ain't really changed all that much! i txt this number on my fone before thinking it was someone else and it wasn't that someone else and i fully made a real d#*! of myself... i'm telling ya... those blonde foils i got are seriously taking over my brain aye. (well at least i can use that as an excuse now since i've actually got some blonde in my hair now lol)
sweet gurly the girls are watching austin powers (not too sure if it's the most appropriate thing to watch, as everytime they watch it, they walk around for like 2 weeks sayin... "HELLO! I'M FAT B------. NOW GET IN MY BELLY!" not a good look really but i'm sure most of it goes in one ear and out the other (fingers crossed behind my back!)
okay dokely bub, hope i put a smile on ya dial! miss ya lots. kia kaha... luv me xox mwah!
