Good things take time!

Hi everyone

Its been a while since the last blog and our apologies for that - we will try and keep it up to date a bit more regularly, even if it is just briefly, as we have heard from so many people how they are still watching it!

We have been home for a month now and its warming up a little outside and we are all settling back into life in Twizel. Our little house was a bit frozen up on the morning of our departure from Christchurch- the last Friday in June. But the split wetback and water inside the house was all sorted when we arrived home later that day thanks to a great bunch of friends and locals.

We returned from a weeks skiing in Wanaka over a week ago! We all had a great time. The weather treated us well and Rob and Kate had 5 full days skiing at Treble Cone. But best of all Sara skied for three afternoons and on the last Saturday was seen seeking out the small jumps and some off piste snow! While were were there the snow conditions were fantastic and got even better on the Wednesday when 38cm of powder snow fell! So Thursday was one of those world famous TC powder days. In between skiing we did a bit of the coffee thing and just chilling out - well actually it was quite warm during the day!

We spent some time catching up with friends which was great and Sara got to spend quite a bit of time with her great friend Caitlin who is in Wanaka training for ski racing this winter.

Sara and Sue spent last week around home being creative and keeping the home fires burning amongst some walking. Rob went back to work for a full week interrupted by a visit to the dentist. Kate headed to Dunedin for the week to see her friend Anna and then came back to work at the Korner Kafe for the weekend. Robyn (Sues sister) and Mac visited in the weekend and skied at Ohau with Kate on Saturday.

This week Sara has gone to school for a couple of afternoons and spent some time in the Art room and meeting up with her buddies and teachers. She is feeling good, is still her bubbly self and while she gets tired has been quite busy and really enjoying being home.

We are off to Christchurch this weekend for a few days to catch up with family and some friends and do some town things!

Ka kite ano.
Sara, Kate Sue and Rob

Sophie and I are off to my brothers place to help with the calves tonite but back in town 4 horse riding on sunday.Rob will be working flat tack on the boat...it is parked up at his work and is looking heaps tidier but still a long way to go.
Have a lovely birthday Sue,love to you all..Janine

Well Sara YOung
Your thought for the day will grace my work wall and tomorrow I will not silence that enthusiasm I have for filing... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. (grin)

Enjoy your walk and I have a question for you and Kate. I would love to commission you both to make me some cards that I can send to people. Little ones or big ones with flowers or funky stuff would be great. I could give them to my sisters for Christmas gifts. What do you think? Individual or packages of cards would be neat. Let me know if you are keen and remember other bloggers I asked first!
hugs T

Oh tut tut tut... that would have to be something else like tutu tutu tutu for your Te Reo Maori wiki!!! LOL!
Oh yes love the skiing piccies.... at least now tui and i have had a day on the old boards... at Rainbow. Was great and we skiied our hearts out all day (no queues!). The liftee even commented on the fact we were getting the best value for our ticket....! It was an early start from here tho..... 5 am leaving Takaka but it was worth it to be up there on the boards at 9am! Went with the year 9 and 10s from school who scored well in the diploma programme they run (kids are scored for behaviour in class, doing homework, being polite etc, being prepared with all their school stuff in every class... nothing academic). Anyway they needed parents along as well.... so of course I really had to force myself!! yea right!
Anyway... little haybale niece, I made haybales with a bunch of 5 year olds at school last week! They are now firm haybale converts too! except they were only mini bales as the supermarket had no supersized EA sponge, just small blocks... you can imagine trying to get 22 plus teachers bales out of a small sponge!!! not an easy task!
Had Lip synch at school the last two nights, always a great night! Ru was a compere with friend Kyne. 4 of the yr 13s did the Four Yorkshiremen Monty Python skit.. it was great. Couple of the teachers did Simply the best ... big rugby fan maths teacher as Tina Turner and smaller female as Jimmy Barnes, hillarious!!!!
Anyway... lots of hugs and laughs
Aunty Haybale

I enjoyed catching up with you in Chch, so nice to hear everyones voice. It would be better in person, but the phone is cheaper. Too bad I can't just transport myself downunder.

Have a great trip back to Twizel. enjoy the skiing in Wanaka in a week or so. Wish I was here. Too bad it is rainy here again.
